Program Establishment

In May 2025, much of the program’s establishment activity is wrapping up, with the partnership and governance structures set up and the team all onboard. Moving into the explore phase, over the next six months we’ll focus on early, exploratory research, mapping existing information about service systems and data flows within and across jurisdictions, and building relationships with key stakeholders to scope and define future work.

Some key activity currently underway and on the horizon includes:

  • Advisory structures – we’re in the early stages of setting up three advisory groups, including DFV sector, lived experience and technical expertise.

  • Public launch and sector engagement – save the date for Wednesday 18 June, when we’re hosting a webinar to announce and introduce the program to the sector and public. We’ll also be presenting at key sector networks and forums throughout June and July. Please get in touch if you convene or are aware of a network that we should connect with.

  • DFV sector mapping, landscape review – core program activity in the coming months includes foundational research to consolidate our understanding of common and contrasting policy, frameworks, terminology, structures and other elements of the sector’s operating context across each partner jurisdiction, to underpin further quantitative and qualitative research.

  • Administrative data extraction – another core priority is engaging and consulting with DFV services to inform data system mapping and requests to extract and analyse existing administrative datasets.
